cds is a company with experienced
personnel who understand the process of converting data from legacy
systems to the latest databases concepts and technologies. Our data
transformation services are carried out with a focus on; accuracy,
data validation, data cleansing, and enrichments. We have the
expertise to evaluate the scope of the project, develop the
specification and execute the plan. We understand data. We know how
to listen. We take pride in our work.
Having successfully completed many data transformation projects, we have compiled a library of
re-usable, generic classes that are extensible to most any project.
Our data-driven approach ensures consistent, repeatable results:
Every time! Our expertise in application development allows us the
added benefit of creating custom middleware should the project
warrant it. Many times, decisions regarding data can only be made by
core personnel with highly specific industry knowledge. A small
middleware application helps to facilitate this because the
application can be installed anywhere (usually locally to the
client), and the encapsulated results incorporated into the larger
project.
Examples of successful
projects are:
cds is the developer of a highly functional enterprise
application for the social services industry. In the effort to bring
new clients on board, we needed to have conversion routines at the
ready for the leading competitor’s application. Without the benefit
of a data dictionary for the competing application, we developed and
tested our conversion. The initial client’s data converted
successfully, and we are able to provide that service to all
prospective new clients.
A cds client was faxing instructional information to a warehouse
that was responsible for shipping to their clients at a processing
cost of $6.00 per fax. If the data is submitted electronically,
there is no cost. The client sends 500 faxes per month. CDS gathered
the requirements from the warehouse, analyzed the output from the
legacy application, in this case: MAS 90, and developed middleware to do the job. The warehouse is now
offering this middleware, tailored to specification, to other
clients as a value added service.
A cds client, a division of a
large entertainment company, is adhering to the corporate migrating
to SAP. The need is to re-program an existing interface from a
legacy application to SAP. CDS worked with the SAP enterprise team
to gather specification and began developing the interface. The
documentation requirements were cumbersome to say the least. A complex wrinkle surfaced
and cds suggested augmenting the legacy application. CDS completed the project on-time and
under budget. The augmentation is saving 25 man hours per
week.
